Flower Master Class at Blythswood Square

Do you ever look at beautifully styled images in glossy magazine and gasp at the fabulous flowers which celebrities have all around them? Then why not go along to the Flower Master Class at Blythswood Square, Glasgow, when top florist Nick Priestly of Mood Flowers will demonstrate the latest trends – while enjoying a glass of prosecco and a sumptuous afternoon tea!

Nick has designed pieces specifically for ‘A’ list celebrities visiting Glasgow including Keira Knightley, Kylie Minogue and Cyndi Lauper and it was his flowers which greeted P Diddy when he stayed in the Penthouse at Blythswood Square. He said: ‘Every client is different whether celebrity or not and I love the challenge of creating something which blends their personality perfectly with the backdrop for the arrangements.

‘For P Diddy I created beautiful vase arrangements of trailing crisp white phalenopsis orchids and tropical foliages which looked gorgeous in the Penthouse while for Rihanna’s hotel suite and dressing room at the SECC it was lots of mini vase arrangements using ivory Avalanche roses and nude coloured Vendela Roses.’

The Flower Master Class being held on Sunday 26^th February is the next in a series at Blythswood Square. Nick added: ‘Guests joining me for this session will see me create current trends in floristry along side signature pieces. They will then have the opportunity to put together their own mini masterpiece which they can take home together with some ideas to help them create the boutique hotel look in their own home.’

The Flower Master Class costs £60 per person (maximum 20) and includes a glass of prosecco and afternoon tea. Also includes a beautiful arrangement of seasonal flowers created personally by each attendee. Monte Carlo here we come!

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the original Monte Carlo Rally and a return to its traditional Glasgow starting point, the five star luxury hotel Blythswood Square has created a range of Monte Carlo Rally hospitality packages providing guests with the ultimate automotive experience.

37 years ago Blythswood Square, once home to the headquarters of the Scottish Automobile Club played host to the Monte Carlo rally, one of the world’s most famous sporting events. On 27th January 2011, Blysthswood Square will be the official starting point and the race will once again commence from this historical landmark on this momentous occasion.

Blythswood Sqaure is at the very heart of the Monte Carlo Rally which started from Blythswood Square in 1955. Over the years many high profile racing drivers frequented the bar and it grew a wide reaching and auspicious reputation. The Rally Bar has now been restored to its former glory and what better location to celebrate this magnificent occasion and evoke some great memories than at the very home of the former Royal Scottish Automobile Club.

The Salon (For 10-16 people, £19.73 pp)

Hospitality Suite (Max 10 people – £600)

Includes room hire, themed canapés, drinks package (Entry level). Champagne reception, finger buffet, dinner, accommodation and in suite mini spa treatments available to add on. For an extra special automotive themed package, Suite 330 (minimum 20 people, £60 per guest) will be set with a Scaletrics sets!

Reception Champagne Bar

Sectioned area with a dedicated champagne bar and seating area. (This area will be primarily for hotel guest use)
